Day 870 The Tiniest of Creatures
This flying critter is so tiny. It was mostly all black. There were a few this size and a few larger. The larger ones looked like black bees. If I ever find out what this is I'll update.
Day 870 European Paper Wasp
Best I've gotten of an European Paper Wasp so far. I love the detail of copper looking dust (wing dust?) on it's abdomen

Day 869 Dried Fox Tail Weed With Water Drops
Just for fun I photographed this foxtail with water drops on it. I put the sepia tone filter just for fun and like it. So here it is.
Day 869 European Paper Wasp
I decided to water the weeds and after I was done I noticed plant of wasps landing. I tried to get as close as I could but to close and they would take off. If you look closely they are cleaning themselves because they are wet. I love the water drops on the top wasp.

Day 868 Hover Fly
Such a tiny guy. Buzz buzz around it goes. So tiny nobody knows. Can't believe I got a some what in focus images from this fly guy.
Day 868 Scathophaga stercoraria
These have all but disappeared from backyard. I was lucky to find this one, however it didn't stay long.
Day 868 Spider Catches a Fly
It was my goal to photograph a spider with prey. Once I found a spider, I waited nearby hoping he'd be successful in his hunt. After about 15 minutes I saw out of the corner of my eye some quick movement. Hooray! The spider caught a fly.
The top picture is pretty with all it's colors, but I cropped it so we could see the spider eyes. I wish I had a better lens so I could get a real close up of spider eyes.

Day 865 Oxyopes scalaris possibly female
This spider was so excited to catch a meal. I could tell by her fast movement and seemingly jubilated deamenor. However, In my eagerness to get a good picture the poor thing dropped her prize.
Day 865 Scudderia
As soon as I remember what kind of plant destroyer this is I'll update. Possibly either S. furcata or S. mexicana
Day 865 My Best Bee Picture So Far
I LOVE the detail in this bee picture. I love her hairs all billowy and clean, her eyes all shiny and bright. She is a beautiful Bee.
