Day 286 Roping

When you carry your camera with you, you might get a spur of the moment photography job. Actually I did it for a friend so I got a free lunch. But it has been a long time since I have photographed a sport so it was fun. Of course I took a few with a slower shutter speed for myself.
I've had far better roping shots, but I am happy with these. I didn't spend to much time on them.

Day 285 Boy and his Cat

I took my dog Tyler for a walk and noticed this boy sitting out front, probably working on his homework. I asked him if I could take a picture, as I thought he was so cute sitting there with his cat beside him. Of course the cat noticed my huge dog and jumped to the ledge.

Day 284 Donkey and Dogs

I have driven by this plot of land covered by trees for years. I always look through the brush to see if I can find the donkey. It's like a little game of "Where's Waldo". Today I drove up to see if I could take a picture of him. The owner said "help yourself." The donkey seemed shy but came out of the brush to get a look at me. He got close enough for me to almost touch him, then he left. The dogs were also curious and followed me around, when I finished they escorted me to my jeep.

Day 283 Silverware

I really want more silverware pictures. I love the bottom picture because it reminds me of a scary movie, and I love the light green color in the top (now second from bottom) picture.
While watching a movie I began thinking how the first two silverware pictures I posted, the black and whites, were pretty similar to others I have posted before. Then it came to me... I should photograph them in a red light.

Day 281 Olives

When you look at olives through the lens of a camera, all I can say is YUCK!!!! I want at least twenty more things photographed on black.

Day 279 Travis

I saw this guy skate by and ran to catch up with him. It was no use, he was to fast on that skate board. Then as I arrived at the next park I saw him talking on the phone. I asked him if he'd skate by so I could get a picture, he said "sure".

Day 278 Jim

I drive by this old blue house all the time. The front door is always open and I know it's a place I need to photograph. Today I stopped and knocked on the door. Jim answered and I told him I wanted to take a picture of him. He consented and then took a picture of me.

Day 277 Self Portrait

Difficult pictures to post.
I've thought for days how I could take a self portrait, while coming to terms with myself as an artist, telling the truth about myself as a human being, and retaining a modicum of self respect. I hope I've done that. If not... well it won't be the first or the last time I have humiliated myself.
I'm not a young girl anymore. I've had a life time of hard labor, stress, sun exposure and over eating due to emotional issues. I'm going to be fifty this year or next, maybe when I'm eighty I'll appreciate these pictures.

Day 276 Light Toy

My husband and I were enjoying a cup of coffee while perusing books at Borders, when I spotted this cute light toy. It was $2.99, so I bought it.

Day 275 Egg Splash

I really just wanted to photograph an egg, but I got carried away and decided to go for another splash photo. Of course I kept missing.

Day 273 Fox Tails

Yesterday I mowed the lawn and noticed these tall fox tails blowing in the wind. They looked so willowey and free, yet when they dry and get stuck in your dogs skin it can cost you several hundred dollars to have them removed. Ugly things these fox tails. I'm also loving the morning light coming in my kitchen window.
