Day 699 Fred and Smoky

It was brutally hot when I got home from work today, so I put the sprinkler on for the dogs. Fred even at 14 years old will get up and in the middle of it all.  Smoky will brave the water only as necessary to get the ball.

6/7/2013 Fred was humanely euthanized a few weeks ago. This was his last foray into the water, his favorite thing.

Day 698 post 2 Donkey

I photographed this donkey pretty early on in this blog. I have tried to get it help because of his feet. They are way to long. It is animal neglect. But I failed as I didn't call animal control. I have little faith in them considering my experience with the starving horse, also on this blog. I called animal control and the officer told me it had rained and the horse could eat when the grass grew. Fortunately that horse did get help and will live out his life at an equine rescue. This donkey has not had such luck. I have contacted a rescue both equine and donkey and no help. Here it is three years or so later and he is still there with these terrible feet. Hopefully this time he can get some help.

I have driven by these old buildings so many times I can't count. There are other pictures of them on my blog somewhere in the past. Here they are today. I couldn't decide between either of these pictures, I suppose one isn't necessarily better than the other.

Smoky has a hot spot and he needs a collar. I looked out the kitchen window and realized the blue collar went well with the wet patio.
