Day 871 Bees in the Lavender

I was pretty disappointed with my bee in the lavender bush today, so I ignored them. Five hours later with a second look, I like plenty of them.

Day 870 Bees in My Lavender

These are my new favorite bee pictures. I love the yellow against the Lavender. And I love bees in general.

Day 869 Bee on Lavender

I have been shuttered at home. Today I pulled some weeds around my lavender plant. My puppy has destroyed it, and I am trying to save it's beautiful lavender self. While outside a teensy bit of sun came out and I saw a bee, so I ran indoors to grab my camera. By the time I retrieved it my sunlight was gone. However I took a few pictures in the shady bluish hue anyway. This is the only bee to visit the lavender. And the only picture in focus enough to share.

Day 867 From the Drive Home

I'm pretty sure this is on 7th Street. I haphazardly took this picture by pointing my camera in the general direction. Today I got lucky.

Day 886 Sky

This was taken with my cell phone and adjusted to black and white. Then I loaded it to Instagram and went through the filters until I found one I liked. This was our view as we left the mall.

Day 884 Drive down 99

So many pictures from our drive on 99, but I am too tired to deal with them.

Day 883 Bees

I think I'm improving my bee pictures. Probably because I'm daring myself to get closer, even though I'm seriously afraid of them.

Day 881 Danny day two

Danny playing in the back yard on his second day in our home. I took plenty of pictures, but this one was different than the rest.

Day 880 Danny our new puppy

Yesterday we adopted Danny, a German Shepherd Kelpie mix ( the rescue guesses). I had been wanting a puppy for a long time now, but was hesitant. I had picked other shepherd mixes but each time I went to the adoption that particular pup was already adopted. The same story happened yesterday, as the one I was hoping to get was no longer an option. I had seen Danny the week before and liked him, but still wasn't sold on actually getting a new puppy. Yesterday there were two shepherd mixes still available, Danny and his brother David. It was a difficult choice but I choose Danny. HIs brother had marvelous Shepherd markings on his face, however I have heard that black or mostly black dogs have a harder time getting adopted so I was leaning towards him when his foster dad came over to me and said Danny was the most loving of all the litter. Sold!

Day 879 Black Soldier Fly

While watering the back yard I noticed a Black Soldier Fly flying about. I have wanted a picture of one for a long time. I ran in the house to get my camera and of course it was gone. Then after quite a patient wait I saw it land on the grass. I kneeled down to get a picture when it flew again away, but it landed on grass still within my camera reach. I managed to get about three pictures of this marvelous beauty.
