Out back watering the lawn, it looked to me like the sun was shinning though water in a way that it might be golden. Apparently I was wrong. But I'll tell you what, I sure am loving my failures.
There is an absence of light in this picture and the flower in it's wilted state causes the scene to look stygian. Although the petals are wilted, the flowers stem and face have a sense of puissance, standing up against the odds, sedulously clinging onto hope in the face of never ending darkness. The flowers golden color gives the feeling that it used to thrive in a once prodigiously opulent valley. I feel like some fantasy hero needs to come in and save the day.
