Day 301 Strawberry Field

One thing I miss about photojournalism is being able to go to places like this for pictures. I drive by this strawberry patch all the time. I stopped this morning before work and literally had about 30 seconds before I had to get back on the road. I wish I could have spent plenty of time and taken the kinds of pictures I wanted.

Day 297 Paul

It was a beautiful morning as I was driving down a street I often drive, when I noticed a man wearing a hat that looked neat against the deep blue sky. I stopped to talk to him and get a few pictures. We talked for about an hour. Paul, who was planting corn, is 87 years old. He has lived on this street for most of his life.

Day 295 Steven Swimming April

Yeah!! The 12th month in a row I've photographed Steven swimming. He even did it in the cold winter months. I think we are going to continue on for a few more months.

Day 291 Melissa and Cloud

After another day spent in the hot sun photographing roping, I was exhausted. Not wanting to post roping pictures again, I was delighted Melissa showed up. She takes good care of her horse, and her sisters horse Cloud.

Day 288 Chris

I noticed a man with a funny hat while driving down the road. He was visiting his friend across the street. The two of them usually spend a nice morning together. He talked to me about a lot of things, I can't remember all of it, but his name is Chris.

Day 287 Mark

My neighbor has a band that practices in his garage. I asked if I could photograph them, but my husband was waiting for me, so I had to go, not much time, I did manage these two pictures of Mark.

Day 286 Roping

When you carry your camera with you, you might get a spur of the moment photography job. Actually I did it for a friend so I got a free lunch. But it has been a long time since I have photographed a sport so it was fun. Of course I took a few with a slower shutter speed for myself.
I've had far better roping shots, but I am happy with these. I didn't spend to much time on them.

Day 285 Boy and his Cat

I took my dog Tyler for a walk and noticed this boy sitting out front, probably working on his homework. I asked him if I could take a picture, as I thought he was so cute sitting there with his cat beside him. Of course the cat noticed my huge dog and jumped to the ledge.

Day 284 Donkey and Dogs

I have driven by this plot of land covered by trees for years. I always look through the brush to see if I can find the donkey. It's like a little game of "Where's Waldo". Today I drove up to see if I could take a picture of him. The owner said "help yourself." The donkey seemed shy but came out of the brush to get a look at me. He got close enough for me to almost touch him, then he left. The dogs were also curious and followed me around, when I finished they escorted me to my jeep.

Day 283 Silverware

I really want more silverware pictures. I love the bottom picture because it reminds me of a scary movie, and I love the light green color in the top (now second from bottom) picture.
While watching a movie I began thinking how the first two silverware pictures I posted, the black and whites, were pretty similar to others I have posted before. Then it came to me... I should photograph them in a red light.
