Day 604 Property owner and a Long Story

A little over a year ago Nor Cal Equine Rescue contacted me to check out a horse rescue. There had been many complaints that the guy was actually a hoarder/horse broker. So I went going undercover. I showed up at the rescue posing as a not so knowledgeable horse person looking to buy a horse. The guy showed me around trying to sell me a horse. Funny though every horse I was interested in he came up with a reason why I couldn't have that one. Any way the guy was full of it... He wasn't feeding the horses they were all skinny. He was obviously a con. I reported back and never heard any more about it other than HSUS knew about him and had him on their radar.
So today I am driving home along a different route and notice the property with no horses and two men standing around talking. I drove in and asked the two men what had happened to the rescue. The land owner told me he had evicted him last March. That the guy was a huge con artist and even took the last fifty dollars from a woman in a wheel chair to go buy hay. He never paid her back. He also told me the guy sold horses that didn't belong to him and kept the money. The property owner told me many people that had been ripped off were looking for that guy. Well anyways the property owner let me take his picture, bottom, and one of the house, middle, and of a house that was not on his property but that I could see it from his property, top. I always like to know what happens to people.
The property owner was very nice and understood me taking pictures. He said he had a friend who takes pictures of all sorts of things.

Day 601 Smokey a Goberian Puppy

I should have taken my lens in for repairs but I took Smokey for a walk. Not exactly the kind of picture I was looking for when I started this blog, but I did say the best picture I take in a day and this is it. Plus he is growing fast. I need to take as many pictures of him as possible.

Day 600 Disney a Half Moon Conure

Disney's been feeling a bit neglected so I photographed him today. As I was taking out my lights I dropped one. All I could hear was shattering... Uggg Plus my regular lens doesn't automatic focus anymore with out making a long drawn out broken motor sound. I think it's time for me to get some new equipment or at least get what I have repaired. So no more posts until then. Without a good lens to photograph outdoors or lights to use for inside pictures there is not much else for me to do. I do have a few rolls of black and white film I have been wanting to use so this good be a good opportunity for me. Day 600 is time for me to take a break. To bad I haven't been able to get to a year of a picture a day. I will say that the only days I have not been able to take a picture have been days spent with my mom and helping her in what ever way I could while she deals with her cancer.
O.K, I'll be posting again when I have fixed camera equipment or some new equipment. Most likely what I have will be getting repaired.

Day 599 Goberian Puppy Smokey

Smokey is growing by leaps and bounds. We have had him for only nine days and it seems as if he has doubled in size.

Day 598 Wayne

I took only one frame today. Maybe I should have tried to focus the image.

Day 595 Nature Thing

I was walking my new puppy and noticed this plant thing laying on the sidewalk. I thought it would look nice in front of my brown background. My guess is that it fell from a tree.

Day 594 Goberian Puppy Smokey

I wanted to take more pictures of Smokey but with a black background. I ended picking out a picture to post that has both black and brown n the background. Go Figure.

Day 593 Goberian Puppy Smokey

The first portraits of my new puppy Smokey.

Day 592 Moon

I spent the day cleaning the house and ripping out carpet to expose an old hardwood floor. While taking out disgusting pieces of old carpet padding I noticed how pretty the moon was. To bad the picture doesn't capture what I saw.

Day 591 Drive Home

Another day spent on the road. I didn't really take to many pictures while traveling. Just a few frames of the sunset.

Day 590 On the Road

Another Day spent visiting my mom in rehab. My only opportunity for taking pictures was on the road from Orange County to Ventura County.

Day 589

I took pictures today of my mom who is in rehab. She had a health set back and has been in rehab for about three weeks now. I don't think she'd appreciate it if I posted her picture. So I did take a picture this day, just not posting.

Day 588 Puppies!

I drove for six hours and when I arrived at my destination took pictures of Siberian Husky, Golden Retriever mix puppies. The puppy at top is mine. Seven my shepherd lab mix that has appeared on my blog three times died during the night on November seventh. Time for my very own new puppy. I had been looking for a husky mix for a very long time now and then heard my sisters friend since high school had a litter. They call them Goberians. She gave me the pick of the litter, I chose the biggest goofiest male. The bottom picture is of one of his sisters.

Day 587 Metal Shack

I have tried for a long time to get a picture of this tiny ramshackle shack, but it never seems to work out for me, until today. I love how the morning light reflects off the shiny surface.

Day 586 Silverware

It's been a long time since I've photographed silverware.

Day 583 Raymond Troha

What I love most about photography is the memories the photographs bring back.
These pictures are for the man who raised my sisters and I. He disappeared about thirty years ago after a contentious divorce. One of my sisters found him and I hear he is happily remarried and living in San Diego. I also hear he lost all his pictures in an apartment flood. So these are for him if he ever finds this place. The top two pictures are of his mother and father with other family members in the second photo. The third down is of him, with a man I don't know, when he was in the Air Force. Bottom picture is of him with my sister Wendy, his biological daughter.
The older the photograph the sweeter the memory.
