Day 271 Drive to and From Work 9

My goal from now until the end if May is to work as much as possible. Which means a lot of pictures while driving. On the plus side, the sky has been dramatic lately. I had to include the top picture because I think that's a zorse (zebra horse combination) in the pasture. Maybe it's a full zebra? Maybe it's a zebra donkey combination? What do they call those? zedonks?

Day 270 Drive To and From Work 8

Top picture is to work, and bottom three are from my drive home. My favorite picture is second from top. As a matter of fact.... I actually like the top two and they could be my post for today. But the sky was just so amazing I had to include the bottom two as well. It's not often you get a sky like that.

Day 269 post 2 Rushing Water

Two posts for today. I usually don't do this, but I can't decide which I like more the rushing water or the flowers and all their color.

Day 269 Old Flowers under Water

The flowers in my house wree getting old so before throwing them away I thought it would be fun to photograph them wet. I've never photographed a drop of water on a flower before.

Day 267 Drive To and From Work 7

Hey man.... If my only time to take pictures is while driving... so be it. I gaussian blurred the sky in the drive home picture, bottom. My camera is so dirty it was impossible to clean the sky without it.

Day 266 On the Way Home

I love this place. It's a couple of abandoned houses I see when driving to work. I've photographed it several times, and now finally I get to post pictures of it. I cloned out part of a house from one of the pictures.

Day 260 White Rose Bud

I arrived home from work today to find a long box outside my front door. I could tell they were flowers but couldn't guess who would send them. I open them up and a note told me they were from my grade school friend. wow what a surprise! A whole bunch of rose buds! In so many different colors. One of the buds fell off so I photographed it.

Day 259 County Meeting

I received an e-mail to attend a county meeting involving the people who run the place where I board my horses. So after a busy day at work my husband and I went. They were hoping to get approval for their events business. A family oriented place where horse events are held and kids and parents can enjoy being out together with their equine family members. I wasn't surprised at the turn out. About twenty people stood up and talked about what a positive place this was and how it benefitted the community. He was approved! I had no time at all to take any pictures but I did snap a picture of a little boy holding his frame of ribbons he had won. Shane, the business owner, is at the bottom of the stairs thanking people who came and showed their support.

Day 257 Richard

I took my dog for a long walk and photographed pretty much nothing, until I neared the end and met Richard. A sweet man just enjoying the evening. He talked to me about his son who is a prison guard. He had such love in his eyes for his little boy.

Day 255 Family Fun on a Sunday Afternoon

What a beautiful day today. I was driving home and noticed a family outside playing baseball. The youngest boy who was wearing red sweat pants was striking against the deep blue of the sky and the deep green of the grass. So I pulled over and asked if I could take pictures of them playing baseball. I was so happy they said yes and laid down to photograph the boy with the red sweat pants.
This is why I love California's Central Valley, it's so nice to see families enjoying beautiful afternoons together. Yes I know families enjoy time together in the city, but the grass here and all the old wooden buildings are just so beautiful. It's the space.
As a photojournalist I sometimes photographed three to four little league games in a day. My timing was great and very rarely did I ever have a picture without the ball. As I sat here studying this image, it really bugged me the ball was not right there above the mitt. I did have some shots with the ball but I love his face expression and the brother in the background of this image. So I just kept starring at it, the more I looked at it, the more accepting I became of the ball not being there. Now, I actually like the anticipation of it appearing into the scene. I really love this picture, and I hope the parents of this boy like it as well. Bottom pic,

Lying on the couch pretty satisfied with myself for having taken a picture I liked, I began to become annoyed once again, that the ball wasn't in the picture. So I added the top two pictures. (3-20, now second and third from bottom) The ball is in both of them. I still can't make up my mind which is best. Maybe I should have photoshopped the ball into the bottom picture?

3-15 O.K. I can't handle it. The ball needs to be in the bottom picture. Too bad I didn't get it at the scene but modern technology exists for our advantage. And while I have not photoshopped anything since the start of this blog, I had to photoshop the ball into the bottom picture. The photoshopped version is second from the top.

3-16 In looking through the pictures of this boy I noticed a picture with the ball that had the background I wanted. I think I was looking for a catch instead of a throw and maybe that's why I missed it. So I have to add it. Top, I did say I'm not very good at editing.

Day 253 Drive to and From Work 6

It's a beautiful time of year. And with my busy schedule, driving is about the only time I have to take pictures. I guess I can't complain because I am not a scenic or landscape photographer, but I have been able to snap a few pictures of the countryside that I absolutely love.

Day 252 Washed Silverware

It was about time to take another picture for my silverware series.

Day 251 Fruit Salad with Whipped Creme

Let me see... Work all day at a real day job, clean up after dogs when I get home, go to bank, go shopping for groceries, clean the kitchen, do some laundry, make a fruit salad, then wonder what the hell am I going to photograph? That's how busy I have been the past month or so. I expect it to be that way until June. Makes me want to stop trying to take pictures everyday, it's just so difficult. Then again I guess that's the challenge isn't it. O.K. then fruit salad it is. I would like at least 16 images maybe up to 20, of food in these bowls and plates.

Day 250 Wasp's Nest in Gold on Black

I found a partial wasps nest while out and about. How fun to spray paint it gold.
