Day 663 Charbay

I don't photograph my horses much. It's difficult for me to get a decent picture of them. The background where they are at is an ugly one. The place I board them at is a great horse place just photographically speaking what I have for a background isn't what I would like. I did enjoy my series on Covey, but he was easy an old white horse mostly photographed in the evening. I am thinking I might try and get good pictures of my remaining four horses.
This is one of them, my only mare, Charbay.

Day 661 Glasses with Forks

Nothing to show for today so I photographed a couple of glasses that were on the kitchen counter. I added the forks for fun.

Day 660 White Orchid from Savemart

I cant' explain why but I have been desirous of photographing a flower. I drove to Savemart and bought two bunches. One was a mixed flower grouping and the other consisted of yellow roses. I tried the yellow roses first but they were falling apart by the second. This is my flower choice from the mixed bouquet.
I also was wanting to photograph something else in front of this back drop. I like it. I think it works, even though my flower has quite a few imperfections. I can call myself the imperfected flower photographer.

Day 659 Disney a Half Moon Conure

I was browsing pictures of Half Moon Conures yesterday when I noticed a picture of Disney had a name I didn't recognize underneath it. Of course I clicked on it to discover a breeder in NH was using a picture of Disney to sell/promote his birds. I then clicked on his website to see Disney's picture on his web site as well. Can you say really annoyed? I e-mailed him to take down Disney's picture. This morning he responded he would, but that he didn't do anything wrong. I explained to him that even though the image didn't say it was copyrighted, it was. Today Disney's image is no longer on his web site.
This made me think about Disney and about how I don't have many good pictures of him. So I set up my lights and tried again to photograph my sweet little bird. Here he is all washed up.

Day 658 South Ninth Street

There was a train blocking the entrance to the freeway. So I turned down South Ninth Street. I haven't been there in so long. It would have been nice to have enough time to get out and photograph some people, only there were none. A couple images of the street itself.

Day 657 Male House Sparrow

Ever since I watched the movie "The Big Year" I've wanted to get a nice photograph of a bird. Then a few weeks ago I went to a nursery and low and behold there was a stunning hummingbird sitting on a tree right in front of me, but alas I did not have my camera. Today I went back to the nursery looking for that hummingbird, but there were no birds to be found. Then as I was getting into my Jeep, I noticed this male House Sparrow playing in a Japanese Maple. It's probably the most common of birds, but I don't care at least I got a picture of it.

Day 656 Smoky

A picture of Smoky. When all else fails, photograph the dogs.

Day 655 Old Barn and Rusty Shed

I have photographed this place so many times.... but I never like the picture. I guess the secret is photographing it through my windshield instead of out through my passenger side window.

Day 654 Drive to Work

What a beautiful morning. I had so many images to choose from as the sky was awesome! But I did manage to choose only one because I love the old barn, the light on, and the dirt driveway.

Day 652 Sunrise with a Windmill

It was an ugly morning during my drive to work. So I turned my camera in the opposite direction to get a sunrise picture. I usually am not a sunrise/sunset fan but I do love the wind mill.

Day 651 Drive to Work

WOW will wonders ever cease! I have taken a picture two days in a row. I am hoping to go for a whole week. And If I can do that maybe I can go two weeks? Maybe I can finally reach my goal of taking a picture a day for a whole year. I am at Day 651 and have not accomplished this. I need a better camera, this one is failing, I need a new computer, I need a lap top so I can down load and post when I am away from home. I need a place to process film so I can shoot black and white and post those pictures, I need a nice scanner so I can scan black and white pictures, what I really need to accomplish my goal is to win the lottery so I can have the time it takes to go get decent pictures. I need to buy a lottery ticket or two. Until then here are two pictures. I couldn't decide between them.
The top picture is the San Joaquin River. A difficult shot as I am driving across a bridge at this point and the barrier is so high that when I have taken this shot in the past the barrier ruins the shot. Today must be my lucky day. Better go get that lottery ticket!

Day 650 A wet Disney

It has been so long since I have taken a picture that I almost forgot how. I have had a physical malady that has pretty much kept me on the couch for the past six months. I have not healed very well and am still going to be basically house bound, but because I was restless I set up my lights and had a little fun trying to photograph Disney. The background has been up and I have been wanting to take a picture of him in front of it for quite awhile now. In looking through the camera back I thought I wouldn't like all the rose shapes, but in seeing the images on the computer screen I love them. My goal is to photograph Disney in front of a lot of different backgrounds, ones that might not be ideal. I don't know maybe I am just going for the worst!
